Some of the coverage our events and team have been shouted out in over the years.
“Telluride Cyclery’s mission reflects both Cooper’s and Steinberg’s passions for biking and skiing, as well as their commitment to the local community. Their aim, they said, is to support and grow cycling and Nordic skiing, provide exceptional service, trusted technical expertise and a welcoming space. They also aim to support both locals and visitors with guidance, quality gear and hands-on experience.”
“Stationed atop the 10,500-foot-high Hillary Step at the high point of the course, the San Miguel Bicycle Alliance (led by Max Cooper of Telluride) offered up bacon, grilled cheese, and other sustenance to exhausted racers as they topped out after 2,500 feet of pedaling and pushing their bikes through the snowy landscape.”
Living St. Louis producer Jim Kirchherr meets up with cross-country cyclist Max Cooper, riding his way from Seattle to New York. During his stop under the Arch in downtown St. Louis, Cooper describes his day-to-day life on his quest to travel across the United States on bike.
“Some events are intentionally goofy, said San Miguel Bike Alliance President Max Cooper, like getting small for bike limbo at Sunday’s skills rodeo or furiously pumping the pedals but not moving anywhere during indoor roller races.”
“My steed came to life at the Oak Street Bootdoctors by way of Max Cooper, a devout apostle for local riding and a mad scientist of a bike mechanic. He custom-built the Turbo specifically for me, my unseemly high center of gravity, and my compromised spine. Its stem (which connects the frame to the handlebars) is lifted by several more spacers than most bikes. It looks a bit odd, but who cares? Max strove to fit the bike to Rob Story, not random rental customers. ”
“Stomparillaz co-founder Max Cooper, who lives in Telluride. They’ve designed the Oculus to be a super-efficient structure. QUITE A HAUL.”
“Full Tilt in Telluride, a Mountain States Cup event held above Mountain Village, saw locals compete in myriad disciplines. Here’s a few results: Pete Dahl won the semi-pro men cross-county race to be crowned state champion; Kevin Ludwig took 6th in the Category 2 downhill; Ernie Watenpaugh took 5th in the pro cross country; Dave LeFevre and Max Cooper took 3rd and 4th in the singlespeed cross-country category, respectively”
“I love the incredible off-the-grid ingenuity these bicycle enthusiasts utilize to get their house built. They use their bikes to transfer supplies to the build site, to mix their cement, and even to prepare their morning protein smoothies. Brilliant,” says John Feld, DIY’s senior vice president of programming and production.
