Wednesday shoutout to our West End friends! Bringing back the second annual Stoke Night with @pizzabikesbeerrepeat , @paradoxycle & @westendtrailsalliance on April 16th. Come bid on the silent auction, play in the bike rodeo, and check out the map of the new trail system. The porch will be open and the music will be pumping, come on down and get stokes for your season!! Building trails, community, and access across Colorado’s West End. @westendtrailallaiance is creating a unique mix of singletrack, backcountry routes, and old paths while helping protect the land they run through. From hands-on trail work to advocating for access, the focus stays on keeping things sustainable and rooted in the local community. Ride it, hike it, love it, hug it, respect it.
MOVIE MAYHEM MONDAY MANIA MADNESS: RAD A BMX cult classic that needs no introduction. The film follows Cru Jones (Bill Allen) on his quest to defeat Bart Taylor (Bart Conner) and be crowned Helltrack champion. Released in 1986, Rad still holds up as a piece of peak ’80s cinema thanks to the music, style, and storyline. It taps all the classic teenage conflicts—choosing between the SATs and bikes, facing off against a rich jock rival, and butting heads with your mother (played by Talia Shire, fresh off portraying Adrian in Rocky I–IV). It also captured hearts with the young romance between Cru and a relatively unknown Lori Loughlin, who would go on to join the cast of Full House shortly thereafter. From John Farnham’s scoring to the cinematography and direction, the movie is pure magic, whether it’s the ethereal “Break the Ice” opening or the iconic “Send Me an Angel” bike prom scene, Rad has it all!
